The customer
Formerly known as Exxellence Group, xxllnc is a leading Dutch company that provides software solutions for the public sector. They support both municipal and national organizations with applications for taxation, social affairs, and spatial planning. Since its establishment in 2001 as a spin-off from the University of Twente, xxllnc has proven itself as a specialist in technology that increases the efficiency of government institutions. Since partnering with Main Capital Partners in 2020, xxllnc has acquired twelve companies, including Processfive, DataMask, Lost Lemon, and Zaaksysteem.nl.
Service
Site.nu has designed the new website for xxllnc in collaboration with Wilde Amsterdam, including the choice of a Content Management System (CMS). The website is fast, user-friendly, and visually appealing, enabling xxllnc to easily manage content without being dependent on third parties.
The goal and the challenge
The challenge was to integrate the various organizations and applications of xxllnc into one brand with a coherent story. This required not just visual consistency, but also the creation of a unified brand identity that reflects the diversity of the products and teams. The goal was to present the complexity of the different applications and teams in a clear and accessible manner, so that visitors experience the brand as a unified whole, while at the same time building trust and feeling supported.
Plan of action
The plan for the new website of xxllnc was focused on creating an accessible and user-friendly online environment that reflects both the diversity of applications and the different teams of xxllnc. The goal was to bring these various elements together into one consistent brand story. The website had to not only clarify xxllnc's relationships with municipalities and government institutions but also provide a seamless experience for visitors seeking information.
De focus lag daarbij op het informeren van bezoekers, het opbouwen van een leiderschapspositie in de publieke sector en het stimuleren van conversies, zonder gebruik te maken van agressieve verkooptechnieken zoals je die vaak ziet bij commerciële platformen als Caraer. Dit werd bereikt door waardevolle content aan te bieden, zoals webinars, downloads en updates, waarmee xxllnc zichzelf als een betrouwbare kennispartner in de publieke sector positioneert. Het idee was om de drempel voor interactie zo laag mogelijk te houden en bezoekers subtiel naar actie te bewegen.
Choice of the CMS
For the website of xxllnc, Sanity was chosen as the content management system (CMS). Sanity is flexible and fast, allowing content to be easily managed without technical knowledge. It is a headless CMS, which means it separates the backend (where content is managed) from the frontend (the website itself), providing more control and speed. For the frontend, React was used, which ensures a fast and dynamic user experience.
Vercel werd gekozen als hosting platform vanwege de sterke prestaties bij React-applicaties en snelle laadtijden, wat belangrijk is voor de gebruikerservaring van de overheidsklanten van xxllnc. Dankzij deze technologieën is de website snel, gemakkelijk te beheren en uit te breiden. De keuze voor Sanity als CMS maakte een flexibele en gebruiksvriendelijke website mogelijk, die eenvoudig beheerd kan worden door Site.nu en xxllnc zelf.
Design
The design of the website has been carefully put together to be visually appealing and coherent, despite the diversity of the applications and teams at xxllnc. Each team has its own color, making the different applications recognizable, yet the website maintains a uniform appearance. The design is minimalist, with a lot of black-and-white and white space, which creates a calm and organized experience. This places the focus on the most important information and keeps the navigation user-friendly, allowing visitors to quickly find what they are looking for.
The website is fully responsive, ensuring it works well on both desktop and mobile, which is important for the diverse users, from municipal employees to policymakers. The interactive elements, such as buttons and forms, are easy to use and support user-friendliness without distracting from the content. The design reflects both the technical capabilities of xxllnc and their customer-focused approach.
The results show that the website operates smoothly on both desktop and mobile. Although most users access via desktop (84.1%), mobile remains an important channel (15.5%). Thanks to full responsiveness, all users, from municipal employees to policymakers, have a pleasant and consistent experience, regardless of the device.
Menu structure
The menu structure is designed with a focus on user-friendliness and efficiency. The website has five main sections:

- Teams: An overview of the various teams, including Taxes, Environment, Productivity, Social and Case-oriented.
- Updates: This section is regularly updated with the latest developments, success stories, downloads, and webinars.
- About us: This section provides information about xxllnc, their mission, vision, and the various teams, and offers access to job openings.
- Contact: Opportunities for visitors to get in touch with xxllnc.
At the top of the website, there is a fixed navigation bar that is always accessible, allowing visitors to quickly switch between pages without losing the context of their current page. There is also a search function that enables users to quickly find specific information, so they don't have to navigate through complex menus.
